No Secure Connection required when using the TrueBlue Shopping Cart
Whilst it is true in a lot of cases that you should ensure a secure connection to the website when purchasing goods over the internet, there are also some exceptions. The True Blue shopping Cart is one of those exceptions. This is due to the fact that True Blue do not take payment for purchases from the store on our website. Instead, if you choose to pay using PayPal then you are transferred to the secure PayPal website where payment will take place. The other option we have is via 'offline payment' where payment details are taken either by phone, fax or email.
There is however still the possibility of a weak point here - your computer!. If you do not keep it up to date in terms of patched and security updates from Microsoft (or linux, FreeBSD, Solaris etc..) and take the appropriate precautions against viruses, spyware, trojans etc, then your computer is at risk and anything you do on it.
The following sites contain information on maintaining and securing your own computer against all the nasties that are on the internet. Once all precautions are in place it is just a matter of keeping on top of things - updates, scans etc, then relax and shop in peace.
